Distribution transformers are classified based on their insulating medium into oil-immersed transformers and dry-type transformers; based on their voltage regulation method, they are classified into off-circuit tap-changing transformers and on-load tap-changing transformers.
1. Oil-immersed transformers are classified by enclosure type as follows:
1) Non-enclosed oil-immersed transformers: Primarily include series such as S8, S9, and S10; widely used in industrial and mining enterprises, agriculture, and civil buildings.
2) Enclosed oil-immersed transformers: Primarily include series such as S9, S9-M, and S10-M; frequently used in the petroleum and chemical industries in environments with high levels of oil contamination and chemical exposure.
3) Sealed oil-immersed transformers: Primarily include series such as BS9, S9-, S10-, S11-MR, SH, and SH12-M; suitable for power distribution in various settings, including industrial and mining enterprises, agriculture, and civil buildings.
2. Dry-type transformers are classified by insulating medium as follows:
1) Encapsulated-coil dry-type transformers: Primarily include series such as SCB8, SC(B)9, SC(B)10, and SCR-10; suitable for high-rise buildings, commercial centers, airports, stations, subways, hospitals, factories, and similar locations.
2) Non-encapsulated-coil dry-type transformers: Primarily include series such as SG10; suitable for high-rise buildings, commercial centers, airports, stations, subways, petrochemical facilities, and similar locations.
