Distribution transformers primarily consist of five main components: the iron core, windings, insulation structure, oil tank, and voltage regulation device.
- Iron core: Forms the magnetic circuit; constructed from stacked silicon steel sheets to minimize eddy current and hysteresis losses.
- Windings: Comprising high-voltage and low-voltage coils, these facilitate the conduction of electrical energy and voltage transformation.
- Insulation structure: Isolates conductive parts at different potentials to ensure insulation safety.
- Oil tank: Contains the insulating oil and serves functions related to both insulation and heat dissipation.
- Voltage regulation device: Adjusts the output voltage - typically via a tap changer - to ensure the supply voltage meets requirements.
