Protection devices for dry-type transformers

The microprocessor-based protection device for dry-type transformers is an economical, integrated solution combining measurement, control, protection, and communication functions. Tailored for high-voltage distribution rooms at the distribution network terminal, it centers on three-stage non-directional overcurrent protection and includes grid parameter monitoring and data acquisition capabilities. It eliminates the need for traditional instruments such as ammeters, voltmeters, wattmeters, frequency meters, and electricity meters; furthermore, it transmits measurement data and protection information to a host computer via communication ports, facilitating distribution network automation. Designed with the characteristics of distribution network power supply in mind, the device integrates an automatic standby power transfer function, allowing for flexible implementation of standby switching for incoming lines and bus-tie sections.

This device utilizes advanced international DSP and surface-mount technologies, as well as flexible fieldbus (CAN) technology, to meet the requirements of various substation voltage levels and achieve coordinated, digital, and intelligent substation operations. The product series supports functions such as protection, measurement, control, regulation, signaling, fault recording, energy metering, fault line selection for small-current grounding systems, and under-frequency load shedding, ensuring standardized technical specifications, functionality, and internal wiring. Employing a distributed protection and control architecture, the devices can be installed in centralized panels or distributed locations; configurations can also be customized to meet specific user requirements and scheme specifications.
